Contacts

This is a private reference site, not a government office. It cannot confirm custody or release, post bond, pull official records, change charges, schedule visits, or answer for the sheriff, jail, court, prosecutor, MDOC, BOP, or ICE. Use the official channels below for those tasks.

Jail and Sheriff Contacts

For a current Shiawassee County Jail custody question, use the jail information phone line first. The official sheriff research did not locate a public online roster, so phone and records channels are the local fallbacks.

Shiawassee County Sheriff's Office and Jail
201 E. McArthur Street
Corunna, MI 48817
Jail information: 989-743-2230
Sheriff main phone: 989-743-3411
Fax: 989-743-6423

The sheriff records counter lists public hours on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday hours are 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. Records questions that are not immediate custody questions should be directed to the records counter or the sheriff FOIA process.

Records and FOIA

The sheriff records page covers report-copy services, posted records hours, fingerprinting hours, and links to FOIA information. The sheriff FOIA page links the official request packet, county FOIA policies, procedures, and operational documents. A written request may be made on the county form or in another written format, such as a letter, fax, email, or in-person delivery.

Michigan FOIA gives the county five business days to respond unless it takes one ten-business-day extension. The county may grant a request, deny it, grant it in part, extend the response, or point to a record already available online. Fees, redactions, and exemptions may apply. Jail booking records, incident reports, and booking photos should be described as specifically as possible when requested.

Where to Look First

Different questions belong with different offices or lookup tools.

Court and Prosecutor Contacts

Filed charges, docket entries, court dates, bond orders, warrants, and dispositions come from court records, not from this private site. The Michigan Courts case search portal is the online case-search route for public records when the case is visible.

The prosecutor's office is the charging office and a victim or witness resource. It is not a defense-lawyer substitute and should not be treated as a general help desk for private background checks.
